Oregon Steelhead Fishing
Steelhead are basically Rainbow Trout that have decided to head out to the ocean for a few years and then return to the rivers to spawn. Unlike Salmon, Steelhead will return to the ocean after spawning and then return again a few years later.

Pound for pound Steelhead are the hardest fishing fish in the Oregon rivers.
Steelhead can grow to close to 20 pounds but most are in the 10 pound range.
When hooked these fish go crazy and most put on an arial battle like no other. Don't try to horse these fish to the boat as they will break off faster than you can imagine.
Steelhead are excellent eating fish and are very tasty on a BBQ or baked.
