I am Eric Swanson, owner and operator at Eric Swanson Outdoors. My passion for fishing started when I was young. At the ripe young age of two, I caught my first trout at Trojan lake with the help of my dad. Growing up along the lower Columbia river in the town of St. Helens, I had perfect access to all the great salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, walleye and bass fishing that the river had to offer. For my 12th birthday my dad bought me a 13' aluminum fishing boat with an old 10 horse Johnson motor. I spent every weekend and summer fishing the sloughs and back waters of the Multnomah channel in that boat with my buddy Riley, I remember him and I returning pop cans at Fred Myers so that we could buy more fishing gear. After I got a little bit older my attention really focused to salmon and steelhead fishing. My dad bought a 20' Bayliner that we fished in all up and down the Columbia river with my favorite spots being the mouth of the Cowlitz and Lewis rivers, during that time my dad took me to as many fishing seminars as we could find. I was hooked for life. After I graduated high school, I started working at bob's sporting goods in Longview while attending lower Columbia community college. Shortly after that I got a job working at fishermans marine and outdoor. When I was working for fishermans, I got to meet some awesome fishing guides that helped me become a better fisherman and got me interested in becoming a guide myself. One of those guides being Jason Berg, he became a good friend and I started deck handing for him every chance I could. That led me to starting my own guide service Eric Swanson Outdoors. My goal at Eric Swanson Outdoors is to put on the highest quality fishing trip around. I'm fully licensed and insured and only use the best quality tackle around. I have a state of the art, brand new 25' River Wild sled equipped with all the safety gear we need for a safe and fun day on the water. I'm a very competitive person and strive to be the best guide around.

Eric runs a fully custom River Wild Fishing Sled that can comfortably fish up to 6 fishermen. It has all the electronics and safety equipment you would expect and is in pristine condition.

Eric runs an "open boat" which means that groups of fishermen may be paired up to fill the boat. If you would like to book the entire boat just for your party please contact Eric and he will work with you on the dates of your trip and the financial arrangements for a private boat.
